Join us at Cape Otway Lightstation on Saturday 22nd of May 2021 for a very special evening as we light up the night and let our ‘Beacon of Hope’ shine out into the dark…
Explore our heritage buildings after darkness falls and gather around the fire for live music, food and drink at the Lightkeepers Cafe.
Lighthouse lovers from far and wide are invited to come and join in the celebrations of Australia’s most significant Lighthouse, fondly named the ‘Beacon of Hope’. Built in 1848 it was a truly significant Australian landmark for many early immigrants to Australia who had been at sea for up to 3 months before sighting the Lightstation shining brightly at Cape Otway.
Bonfire, live music, mulled wine and delicious food
Entry is from 5.30pm with celebrations commencing at 6pm. Event close 9.30pm.
Wrap up warm, bring a torch and a blanket for sitting and wear sturdy footwear.
Tickets are limited and must be booked online. Please note limited tickets are available to climb the tower & these are issued in 15 minute segments to allow 5 mins of viewing from the lighthouse.
General viewing will be possible from the Whale Viewing platform for those that miss out on lighthouse tickets.
General Admission $10- Tickets provide entry to the grounds and entertainment only. No tower access, however there are viewing areas where the light can be seen.
VIP Tower Climb Ticket – $35 – Tickets provide entry to our the grounds, entertainment, plus the rare opportunity to climb the tower once the light is lit to witness the working lantern up close.
